Hospitality

The 2026 regulation changed the rules — guest identification before access, keyboxes banned in many cities. Anyone managing arrivals with a lockbox needs to adapt. We turn it into an advantage.

Online check-in with guest identification by video call and digital key delivery, with the hotel room's smart door reader

What the regulation says

Self-service access is only allowed if preceded by guest identification — in person or via video call with document verification. Access codes can only be issued once verification is complete, and data must be transmitted to the mandatory portals. External keyboxes are banned in many cities, with fines and removal.

The Medioest solution

A complete, compliant system: the guest is identified by video call before arrival, receives the key on their phone only once verification is complete, the smart lock opens the right door at the right time, guest registration submission happens on its own. All integrated with the management software you already use. And since arrival is also the first impression: project-based room and common-area furniture, luggage lockers for pre check-in and post check-out, with the North-East contract supply chain.

Why now

Investment in Italian hospitality is at record levels, and the North-East is the area with the most facilities in Italy. Those adapting out of obligation can, with the same project, raise the guest experience — and the value of the property.

Start with a pilot.

One room, one locker bank, one floor: a small perimeter, installed and working, before you extend it. Scaling up is decided on the pilot's numbers — how much space you freed, how much time you got back — not on the promises of whoever sold it to you.

Fifteen minutes to see a compliant check-in, from identification to the door opening.
